We're Goin' BANANAS!!

My daughter loves the monkeys at the zoo! They are by far her most favorite animal and she can watch them for minutes! Which considering she is almost 2 - that is a LONG attention span! We moved from San Antonio about 6 months ago to Savannah. San Antonio had the best zoo - we had an annual pass and only lived about 25 minutes from the zoo. So trips were weekly! Unfortunately their is no zoo in Savannah and the closest zoo is Jacksonville, Florida - about a 2 hour drive from our house. So needless to say we are missing the monkeys!!! We don't get down to Jacksonville as often as our trips in Savannah - so I decided to bring the monkeys to us! Presenting our "Goin' Banana's" Collection!! A fun gender neutral collection - great for any little monkey! I love this set - simple, funky and the little bum patch just threw it over the edge!!! Japanese Fabric Imported

I am so excited!! I absolutely love Japanese fabric - I have wanted to use it in my shop for sometime now - but as pricey as it is - I haven't been able to work it in - without breaking the bank - or charging a fortune!!! Well.. I finally got a great idea where I can incorporate it and get my customers some fabulous japanese prints - that won't break the bank! These are two coming to me as we speak all the way from JAPAN! Yipee!!! I'll guess you will just have to wait and see what creations come of it - TRUST me - you will want to see these- The ideas are just flowing!!! I can't wait!

WILD CHILD handmade Onesie, BIB, Burp Cloth, Barrettes

I say this all the time - but everytime I make a new creation - I SWEAR it is my favorite... and this one is no exception. I call it my WILD CHILD. Which would have been perfect for my little baby girl - as she was just that. Keeping her Daddy and I up till all hours of the night. Her days and nights were mixed up for what seemed to be an eternity! Thankfully mommy won the battle (still fighting the war) and she sleeps through the night! My husband is already asking for baby number 2 - how quickly he forgets - eh? Personally I don't think I am ready for all those sleepless nights again! They are still fresh in my memory! On a recent visit to Jekyll Island off the coast of Georgia I discovered a great new center opening. It is called the Georgia Sea Turtle Center (opening June 16th 2007). Considering the fact that all seven species of sea turtles are in danger of extinction – this new center caught my attention. The GSTC mission and goals are 1) REHABILITATION of ill and injured sea turtles, 2) RESEARCH on the health of individual turtles, local and global sea turtle populations and other turtles, terrapins and tortoises, and 3) EDUCATION about marine eco-system to empower individuals, business and government agencies to protect the coastal habitat.

In honor of that visit as well as my scuba diving experience and many one on one encounters with these amazing creatures - I will be donating $5.00 from every sale of this onesie to this facility. Dirty Dancing celebrates 20th Anniversary!

So am I a total geek for loving this movie! I think the sadest part is the fact that it has been 20 years! Man do I feel old now! It's funny how small things come up and remind you how quickly time is passing! This was one of those moments for me. I am off to celebrate my old age by going to see the flick pay on the big screen tonight! I am so excited - plus I am a mommy who really needs a girls night out! Cheers!

Penny the Peacock needs a home!

I know I always say this, but I love my newest creation! I call her Penny the Peacock. She is part of an entire collection for some wonderful little baby! She was made from Heather Bailey fabrics (she is probably the newest designer to join the Free Spirit fabric line) - I love her stuff! I have some more coming from her fabric collection - so check back often. Do you know someone who can adopt Penny for me!! Please Help!

Grandmas Sewing Machine

I LOVE my NEW sewing machine... We'll it's really my Grandma's sewing machine. You know the one she sewed all my quilts, sleeping bags and dresses on. This machine is the BOMB! It is a viking and comes with these Cams - I hope I spelled that right! Anyways... you can choose all these designer stitches... I absolutely love the sweet little scallops, but I am sure I will find uses for all the other stitches. This is my latest creation - fully utilizing the cute stitches I can do with my new machine - Grandma would be proud!

Etsy treasury FRONT PAGE!

WOW.... WOW.... - can I say WOW??? I made it on the front page of ETSY for the first time! Not only that but two of my items were in the treasury listing! The sad part is - I totally missed it. I have been working on my blog - well more like "tearing my hair out" over my blog over the last two days. I know it doesn't show it, but learning html code isn't as easy as it may appear. Especially when we are talking about a total computer illiterate human being (yep, believe it or not - I am a very slow learned... computer tech! - LOL - I am using the word tech very liberally)... Anyways... So back to my bragging!!! I am so ecstatic! Check out the treasury before it dissappears (it is no longer on the front page - (this is me with tears running down my face)... but it is a great kids list anyways... As always - I have some great fabric from MODA - called urban chicks - It was on backorder for 3 months - and I finally got it - so keep your eye out for some great new creations!! You will love this stuff!!

I have had such a great response to my Baby Hair Candy that I have made "hair candy" for mommies too!! I will eventually have styles that match all of my onesies... How cute would it be to have that touch of "matchy, matchy" to your little one by adding a sweet hair clip in your hair! Even match your boys! Shabby Chic Handmade Keepsake quilt and blocks

My latest creation was a total labor of love. I call it my Shabby Chic collection. Inspiring colors of pinks, greens and reds this one of a kind baby quilt would be such a great heirloom keepsake to pass on from generation to generation. Baby Blocks - Keepsake

I absolutely adore my latest creation. These are such a unique addition to a nursery or playroom. Made from beautiful fabrics from Amy Butlers Lotus Collection. Each side of the block is a mini quilt. I literally quilted each peice before peicing the entire block together. If you look closely on the pictures you can see the detail work. This set is for A B C and coincides beautifully with my Amy Butler Modern quilt. Hang that little quilt in a nursery and add these blocks on a cute shelf and you have the custom nursery unlike any others.

PLUS... what baby wouldn't want to look at these hip, modern shapes and colors. Teach them colors and the ABC's in style!
